Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Shayne Kelly is a postdoctoral fellow who works with people who want more out of life— more direction, more ease, and a deeper sense of connection to themselves and others. Dr. Kelly earned her doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Adler University, where she concentrated in substance use counseling, and completed her undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Dr. Kelly has supported individuals in a wide range of healing environments, including inpatient hospitals, residential treatment centers for substance use, outpatient medication-assisted treatment programs, and private practice. Most recently, she completed her APA-accredited internship at Centerstone Hospital and Addiction Center in Bradenton, Florida.

Her approach is warm, direct, and deeply human. Dr. Kelly blends evidence-based treatments such as psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, harm reduction, and positive psychology with attuned presence, meaningful dialogue, and a spirit of collaboration. She helps people slow down, tune inward, and notice the patterns that keep them stuck, then walks alongside them in making intentional changes that reflect their deeper values and sense of self.

Dr. Kelly supports individuals across the lifespan who are navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, or isolation, helping them rediscover what brings meaning, connection, and direction. She also works with individuals who feel stuck in unfulfilling relationship cycles—helping them understand old patterns and create new ways of connecting. This relational focus naturally extends to her work with adolescents and young adults, where she provides thoughtful support through the complex terrain of identity, emotion, and relationships during a time that can feel especially vulnerable. She fosters a space for reflection and self-discovery where young people can feel safe enough to be honest and brave enough to grow.

She also works closely with individuals struggling with substance use, co-occurring disorders, compulsive behaviors, or other ways of disconnecting from themselves. Whether someone is exploring mindful moderation, working toward sobriety, or seeking to deepen their recovery after reaching abstinence, Dr. Kelly offers an empathetic, grounded presence that honors curiosity over judgment and growth over perfection.

She is an EMDR-trained clinician and incorporates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to support trauma resolution and nervous system regulation. Many clients describe EMDR as a transformative part of their growth—allowing them to release old pain, shift unhelpful narratives, and reconnect with a deeper sense of inner stability and presence.

Dr. Kelly holds close the words of Maya Angelou: “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” Her approach reflects this belief- that growth starts with understanding, and through that understanding, new possibilities for living and relating emerge.
